It is now time for the SECOND Frog Hands Dinner Theater and Silent Auction. Dinner will consist of Pork BBQ and Grilled Chicken, (you get both) all the trimmings, dessert, and tea. Entertainment is being provided by Drifting Sands Bluegrass Band and Ronnie Wyatt, Comedian and Pastor of Ramoth Gilead. There will also be a silent auction. It will be held at Ramoth Gilead (near Morgan's Corner) on Saturday, April 30th. Doors open at 5, Dinner at 6, and the show starts at 7. The band and Ronnie perform at the Outer Banks Music Showcase.
We need your help in order to make this fundraiser - our main fundraiser - a success. We need help selling tickets, collecting items for the silent auction, and of course help that day setting up, serving, and cleaning. Speaking of tickets, there will only be a limited number sold. Last year it was 100 and it was sold out. The number this year is 130.
We have the information for 2 more soldiers and will be getting a shipment off to them soon. I recently learned that my high school buddy (the one who started this madness) will be deployed again later this year to Kuwait, so that will be 5 soldiers. We don't just ship to the soldier, we send enough for each one to share with 15 - 20 more. so we are reaching around 100 people with each shipment. Remember, the boxes cost $12.50 each to ship and so far we haven't had to buy the goodies we put in them; so please remember them if you can- nabs, candy, snacks, nuts, etc. Everytime I ask about any other needs, they say, "no, just candy." So that's what we send them. Last year we spent over $400 on shipping alone. The more we have, the more we can do.
We no longer collect medicine bottles. The last A and animal shelter and couldn't find anyone that was taking them.
Also, start thinking about our Community Fun Day this fall. Last year we had around 200 to attend. Everything is free (except the crafts of course) popcorn, hot dogs, drinks, chips, and cotton candy. This takes alot of work, sponsors, and donations. So please keep this in mind. More details to come.
